Dr. Janggi

Janggi, also known as Korean chess, is a strategic board game that has gained popularity in Korea. It is derived from xiangqi, the Chinese chess game, and shares many similarities with it, including the starting position of the pieces and the 9x10 gameboard. However, unlike xiangqi, Janggi does not have a dividing "river" in the middle of the board.

The game of Janggi is played on a board that consists of nine lines horizontally and ten lines vertically. While the presence of jumping cannons and long-range elephants can make the game fast-paced at times, professional games tend to last over 150 moves and are typically slower compared to Western chess.
